COMPARING DIFFERENT PREGNANCY TESTS

In today’s world, most of the home pregnancy tests claim to be more than 99 percent accurate when taken correctly. The only thing, we do not know is, whether they are as accurate on the missed day of your period as they are 5 to 7 days later. So, it is quite difficult to understand which home pregnancy test will provide you the most reliable result when you want it.

These tests detect the hCG, a hormone secreted by the cells that becomes the placenta. During pregnancy, the hCG levels rises rapidly following implantation, and doubles every 2 to 3 days for about 10 weeks. Those tests are said to be most sensitive, that detect the lowest concentration of hCG (in milli-International Units per milliliter of urine) and give the earliest reliable results.

The following table lists most of the common home pregnancy tests present in the market. The test with lowest hCG levels are able to detect pregnancy sooner than those rated for a higher level.
